Falling to Pieces (A Rose Gardner Between the Numbers Novella)

If you look at the right side bar, you can see that I plan to release Thirty-One and a Half Regrets on January 9, 2014. Thirty-One will start  about a month after the end of Thirty and a Half Excuses.  But Rose is going to go through a lot in that month. I’ve had readers tell me that they want to know what happened after The End of Thirty.

But then I also thought: Did you wonder what was going through Joe’s mind during the last few chapters of Thirty and a Half Excuses? Do you wonder how Joe coped after the end of the book?

Then I have a surprise for you.

I’m halfway done writing a novella that I’ve titled Falling to Pieces. It starts immediately at the end of Thirty and a Half Excuses and follows Rose and some of Joe through the next couple of weeks. It also lets you in Joe’s head so you can see what happened at his parent’s house AFTER Rose went home.  I plan to publish it as an ebook and print book in February, 2014.

But here’s the best part:

My newsletter subscribers get to read it for free. And EARLY.

I will release the novella in a serial format. I’m writing it in three parts and will release each part, one month apart, with links and passwords to read it on my website.

The first newsletter will go out around October 1, so be sure to sign up NOW! If you miss the October 1st mailing, you’ll have to wait until November 1st to get the links! So sign up now and don’t miss out!

You can sign up by clicking HERE or up in the top right side bar.

And not to worry if you stumble upon this post after October 1, I’ll post ALL the links available in each month’s newsletter.  So if you sign up on October 28, you’ll get the links and password to read the first and second part in the November 1 newsletter. And the same with the December newsletter.

Thank goodness. I am hooked on these books -read all 3 since Tuesday. 2 of them today

  9. Katherine says:

It was the best of times and the worst of times. More Rose Gardner mystery books and then to my horror, the excerpt stopped! Sadly, I re-read it later that day hoping for more to magically appear at the bottom. 😉
I have never cared for novellas because I like a fuller story to immerse myself in but you blew me away and this was just a first instalment. Even though you are generously letting your subscribers read it for free, I am waiting to one-click for my collection. Within a couple paragraphs I was sucked into that world completely and feeling emotions so intensely that It just shows what a good series you have crafted and your writing talent to make someone feel something that other books can’t do in 200 pages.
I wish you continued success with your gift, you really deserve it!

  10. trina says:

Just finished Thirty and a half excuses ten minutes ago. I cried and I am nerves and excited to see what happens next. I cant wait for the first of november to read the first two segments of falling to pieces.

So far I have not received a link to start reading FALLING TO PIECES. Let me know if there is something I should be doing or where I should go on the site to start reading. I’m kind of pulling for Mason at this point.

  15. Jess says:

Yay! Just signed up for your newsletter and was bit sad that I had missed the nov issue by a couple days, didn’t want to wait until dec!! Am waiting with baited breath for my email with links and passwords 🙂

  16. Kimberly says:

I just read all three books over the last 2 days. I’m devastated by the ending and now I wish I hadn’t read it without the 4th book already out so I could make Rose’s life right again! I can’t believe how enmeshed I became in a book. Keep them coming!!

  17. srav says:

Just completed the third book.Signed up for your news letter but i did not get the links. I am eagerly waiting to know what happens next..

  18. Kim says:

Just finished Thirty and a Half excuses, but I haven’t read the novella yet. Although I think Mason is a lovely guy (the guy in the right place at the right time), but my loyalty lies with Rose and Joe. Since he does not appear much throughout the 2nd and 3rd book, I could understand why many would easily root for Mason, who’s easily and readily available for Rose, heck, if Joe wasn’t in the picture first, Mason would definitely be the first runner… but love and building a relationship is not always easy. I feel bad for Joe. It’s easy for many not to sympathize with him because we see glimpses of him and it’s always him being scared about losing Rose. As it’s a recurring theme in the series, things are not always what they appear, and can easily fit into the puzzle. I think there’s more to Joe’s story. It’s not that he’s not a good guy, it’s circumstantial. I’m really excited to see if their love will conquer all… circumstantial or not. I can’t wait for the links of the novella to come, and for the fourth book to arrive!!

  19. Kimberly says:

Love the series! I only read part 1of Falling to Pieces, has part 2 been sent out yet?

  20. Ashley says:

Hoodoo, I just finished thirty and a half excuses after reading the series religiously for two weeks only to find out I missed both link dates 🙁

  21. amanda says:

I just read all three books in a few days! I love love love it! I just read about the falling to pieces and immediately signed up to be on the mailing list. Cannot wait til I get that link email 😉

  22. Tessa says:

Stumbled on theses books on the weekend while surfing and read them all in three days. Thank you for the ” good read ” and look forward to reading more of your work.

  23. Joelle in NJ says:

Thank you for writing this. I can’t get enough of Rose. And I can’t get enough of your writing. Thanks again Denise!!! 🙂

  24. Lisa H says:

Just finished the third book, signed up for the newsletter and the link for parts 1 and 2 of the novella came into my inbox at the top of the hour like clockwork- thank you!! Can’t wait to read more about Rose!

  25. Pam says:

How do you get falling to pieces???

  26. Saide says:

From the day that I discovered these books I could not stop reading ! What a great read!
I cried when I read part 1&2 and now i wait for December 2 😀

  27. Alison says:

Cannot for the life of me wait to read the fourth book. Its hard to find a good book series that your on edge until you can read more. I actually feel heartbroken for rose and Joe, your writing is a force to be reckoned with. Keep up the amazing work, but please for all that is holy let Joe and rose find there way back to each other. As much as mason has been there for rose I cant for the life of me like the guy.

  28. Michelle says:

Joe can’t end up with Hilary!! He can meet someone else nice and Savannah-like as his trophy wife stand-in but please don’t let Rose’s vision come true! Also, if this series ever becomes a movie, Mike Vogel would make a great Mason and Josh Duhamel is the perfect Joe. 🙂

  29. Julia says:

Finished Thirty and a half excuses yesterday and loved it. Signed up for the newsletter to read falling to pieces. Until now i only have the link and password to part 1 even though the mail subject says part 1 and 2. Does anyobe know if I have to wait for the December newsletter to get to part 2?

  30. Sue Vickers says:

Signed up for the newsletter yesterday. Got the link for the first part of Falling To Pieces, but no link for the second part 🙁

  31. Donna Coombes says:

Help… I have the links and passwords but I can’t access part one for some reason? The others work fine.
    Please help 🙁

  32. Judy says:

Joe needs to end up with Rose. Please put Rose & Joe back together. My loyalty lies with Rose and Joe.
Mason is OK but he is not Joe. Let Joe and Rose find their way back to each other.
    I love your books.

  33. Michele says:

You are a fantastic authoress! I am emotionally invested and can hardly wait for the link in the email – only an hour ?? Now!! Ha ha. I read voraciously – like a book or two, daily. Your incredible talent is rare. You are definitely a story weaver. I’m looking at your list of published books and will be downloading this series as it becomes available. Thank you for the free sneak peak. January never seemed so far away!!

  34. Patty says:

Totally hooked. I read all 3 books of Rose Gardner in less then 1 week. Loved them all.

  35. Rebecca Moore says:

I have to admit I only stumbled upon the Rose Gardner series,
and it’s the best stumbling I’ve ever done! I haven’t been able to put my kindle down!

As soon as I realised there was a subscribers list it didnt take me long to sign up! You are a brilliant author and I have the utmost respect for you!

I love Rose and her adventures and especially her relationship with Joe! I actually cried at the end of the latest book! I hope they manage to find their way back to each other!

I think I have missed your newsletter but im willing to wait for the new releases I’ll just have to learn to manage my excitement until then!

Thank you for writing amazing books!

  36. Pam says:

Loved “Falling to Pieces.” As for Joe? Let’s move on people. Team Mason all the way. He can show Rose was true love is all about. He’s been there for Rose and understands who she is while Joe doesn’t. Joe’s a child, not a man and he’s certainly not trustworthy. Why do we all feel that the heroine always has to end up with her first love when she’s betrayed by him? Doesn’t matter the reasons as he still turned his back on Rose. No matter how much it hurts, I wouldn’t take him back because I deserve better.

    Mason! Mason! Mason!

  37. Melissa says:

I signed up for the newsletter today since I finished Thirty and a half Excuses yesterday. I wanted to know if it is possible to get the links to read falling to Pieces before reading Thirty one and a half regrets?

  38. Lauren says:

Just finished reading these books back to back not sure how I’ll cope waiting for the next one to be released or waiting for the fifth which I’ve just seen on here. Is there a way to catch up on falling to pieces.

  39. Miriam says:

I read all three books in this series in the past three days.
They are impossible to put down!
Can’t wait for the next book, and am trying to figure out how to get the novella. I signed up for the newsletter, maybe it takes a few days?
This is a great series and my new favoriate author. The weird thing is that I don’t ever read paranormal fiction but with these books it works. I’m delighted to discover more books by this talented writer.

  40. Miriam says:

I found the link in the newsletter.
What a lovely treat to read Denise’s work.

  41. Alyssa says:

Is there any way I can get a link to the second part of Falling to Pieces? I found the links to the first and third but not the second! I’m in love with this series and want to keep reading more!

  42. Frances says:

I subscribed, how do i get the links?

  43. Michelle says:

I just finished reading the third book and loved it although I was sad with the ending 🙁 I’m disappointed though that I missed out on the links for falling to pieces though

  44. Simone says:

Read all 3 books back to back but only discovered them just before xmas, any chance if getting the novella links – dying to read more and looking forward to book 4,

  45. LM says:

I stumbled upon the series a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been absolutely hooked since. But I’m gutted to realise a little too late that I’ve missed all the dates for the published links to this novella! Is there ANY way I can get hold of them now? Really love the series so far. Best I’ve read yet.

  46. Bertha says:

  47. Anonymous says:

What’s up friends, how is all, and what you wish for to say concerning this
post, in my view its genuinely remarkable in support of me.

  48. Michelle says:

Is it too late to get the links to Falling to pieces? I just recently started reading this series and love it so far!

  49. Kristen says:

Masons a nice guy and all, but I really wanted Rose to end up with Joe. I accidentally read all the summaries and I cried even though I didn’t read the books. Joe was my favourite character and I wish they could have ended up together. Maybe in the next one?

  50. Mati Marbach says:

I have been looking all over for a website that i could go to so that i could get Falling to Pieces for free, i have been getting all the other books from the library, so where can i get it for free if i can, feel free to email me, thanks! 🙂 I love your books by the way!!
